Location: Nh Doelen Hotel
This property is not only one of Amsterdam's oldest hotels, but is also situated in the same building where Rembrandt produced his famous painting "The Nightwatch". The hotel overlooks one of the city's most charming canals and even has its own docking point for tour boats. It was originally built in 1530 as a soldiers lookout post, hence the famous Rembrandt painting.

This hotel has a perfect location and offers a great experience of a little Dutch history. The medium sized bedrooms are in very good condition. They feature a predominantly red and yellow colour scheme evoking a very cosy but elegant feel. The Scottish restaurant enjoys beautiful canal views and serves traditional Scottish fare. There is also a cosy open fireplace. Breakfast is served in a traditional room also enjoying lovely views over the canal and Amsterdam. The lobby is very traditional with marble flooring and antique ornaments, although it is quite small.
