This hotel is located in the old part of Amsterdam overlooking the main canal and is just a short walk from the railway. It is a former 16th century Royal Inn and was the setting for the wedding of Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands.

This is probably one of the best hotels in Amsterdam, it has retained its historical features and has one of the most impressive entrances in Amsterdam. The rooms are medium to large in size and decorated in old English style. The rooms vary slightly as they have been individually designed to reflect the building's historic past. They have views onto the 17th century canals, the secluded garden or the paved inner courtyard. The bathrooms, like the rooms, are in excellent condition and decorated in marble with gold taps. The "Cafe Roux", overseen by the world famous Albert Roux, is a brasserie style restaurant offering excellent cuisine at reasonable prices. There is also a lovely garden where one can have lunch and dinner or drinks, weather permitting.
