This hotel is overlooking the 'Dam Plein' which was famous in the sixties for its hippy culture. It is also next to the main shopping street of Amsterdam, so is not one of the most quiet areas of Amsterdam.

The hotel consists of several traditional old houses which have been joined together. Recently renovated, the lobby is a lot more modern and much brighter with marble floor and pale colours. The reception desk is in wood and steel. The bedrooms vary in size depending on which part of the building they are situated. They are, in general, quite large with up-to-date decor in shades of blue offering a high level of comfort. The bathrooms are all medium sized and also in good condition, especially the newer ones. There is a small restaurant and bar available to hotel guests serving both Dutch and Swiss dishes at very reasonable prices.
