Description: Lapa Palace Hotel
This elegant building, with its stunning gardens, opened in 1992 as a hotel after it had been expanded to incorporate additional poolside accommodation. Decorated in a traditional Portuguese style, it features marble stucco, carved wood and richly patterned azulejos tiles. This hotel was previously a private family Palace and is pink on the exterior and very colonial in style. It is fully walled and has gardens with cascading water and an outdoor pool. The guestrooms situated in the new wing have either a garden view or garden and river view. The rooms are large and very richly decorated in pastel shades with wooden floors. The rooms in the Palace wing all have different themes such as Colonial, Indo-Portuguese and Baroque. The hotel lobby area is actually situated on the fourth floor. It is very spacious and regal in décor. and leads on to the bar. In addition, there is a tastefully decorated restaurant, serving international in elegant surroundings. The hotel also has its own private health club. This is a splendid property, where the needs of all visitors are consistently met by the friendly hotel staff.
