Description: Argonaut Hotel
Part of the Kimpton group of boutique hotels, the hotel opened in 2003 and is housed in a converted warehouse. A number of original features remain, including large timbers and warehouse doors. The hotel shares the building with the Maritime National Historic Park Visitors Centre. The hotel offers guests the use of their fitness centre including free yoga baskets for use with the 24 hour yoga TV channel. There’s also a complimentary wine reception each evening in the spacious and brightly coloured fireside lounge.
As with the rest of the hotel, bedrooms are bright and bold with a nautical theme. Walls are golden stripes, bedding is royal blue with white and yellow trimmings, carpets are polka dots! Furniture is whitewashed wood with large captain’s desk and comfortable seating. In your room you can expect to find Sony Wega TV’s, DVD player, games console, gourmet treats in the minibar, dual phone line and large personal safes. Luxurious bathrooms have designer toiletries.
Dining is in the adjacent Blue Mermaid Chowder House, serving mainly seafood. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
